Survey Shows Digital Televisions Now Owned by Majority of Americans

A survey by the Consumer Electronics Association has concluded that half of American homes have a Digital TV set. This is a major milestone for the technology and is being considered by CEA a “critical threshold.”  What this really means is that TV brands are doing their part to keep the transition from analog to digital on track by continuing to sell digital televisions at competitive prices.  The more households that have digital televisions in the U.S., the less analog boxes are still floating around – each analog box will need a special federally subsidized converter box in order to receive regular television come February 2009.  Read “Digital Transition Coupons Now Available in the U.S.” for more info on the transition.
