There is editorial oversight of the reviews and with this comes a number of important accuracy and fact checking procedures. This way you realize that what you are reading is not flippantly written and prone to erroneous information. Now, of course that does not mean that everything put into print in a consumer electronics magazine is accurate or reliable. But, it does mean that the presence of poor and factually inaccurate reviews will be limited due to the magazine imposing quality standards on the presented material.
