Why celebrities have home theater systems
There are many reasons why the homes that celebrities build or purchase often have a custom home theater as a feature. Celebrities use home theaters both for pleasure and for business. The PSB Speaker Company based in Ontario, Canada has been a leader in the speaker business for more than thirty years. If you watch television and have an older TV set, (sometimes known as an analog or cathode ray tube TV) you have probably heard that by February of 2009, you will need to have purchased a converter box. Most of us already enjoy digital television programming with satellite or cable and won’t need to do much to prepare for the change. The bass is the ‘.1’ in a 5.1 surround sound system. For such a little number, it’s very important for your home theatre audio. Some may even say crucial. The bass is the part of the soundtrack that moves you - literally. When you sit in a theatre and a bomb goes off or the thunder rolls, the lower parts of the sounds are what set up the vibrations that travel around your body, enhancing that feeling of being part of the action. It’s also the part of the sound that has the potential to shake your downstairs neighbor’s china off the shelves or set off the alarm of that car parked across the street.

One glance through any online manufacturer or distributor of home speaker equipment, or a walk through a store that stocks a large variety of speakers, can cause a potential buyer to procrastinate a purchase. With over 500 models under various brand and model names, many consumers rely on salesclerks to lead them in the right direction, or opt for whatever is on sale. Although they may find that their purchase meets their needs, they never know whether they bought the very best speakers for their money, and the ones that sounded best to their ears. Not only that, they may have nothing with which to compare the sounds of music and movies in their particular home theater area. That’s why it’s a good idea to educate one’s self before making a choice, including listening to personal CD’s on several speakers, and to return speakers that don’t sound as good at home as in the store.

There are all kinds of electronic toys and gadgets that you can add to a home theater system, but there are a few pieces that make up the core. The center piece and focal point of any home entertainment system is the video display, or television. Finally, the system will require a source or player to provide the picture and sound. Cable or satellite TV is standard in most homes but DVD and other players are also added to expand the usefulness of a home theater.
