When a home is built the builders don’t place a home theater system in the middle of a field and build the home around it. So, we are all stuck with figuring a way to properly fit a home theater system into a room. This starts prior to making your home theater system purchase. While there are no simple solutions here are a few tips that should be taken into consideration before purchasing:
- The size of the LCD, Plasma, rear projection screen or other video display
- The type of speakers you will purchase as there is a huge difference in fitting floor standing vs. wall mount units
- The type of equipment rack you will use and where it will be mounted or placed
- A clear understanding of where – and how – the equipment will be plugged in
Following these simple tips will eliminate a number of common “fitting” problems with home theater systems. If all of this makes you feel uneasy, consider hiring a professional custom installer to help with designing and placing your home theater equipment.
