Sony Announces New Energy Efficient Bravia
At a Tokyo press conference last week, Sony unveiled a new Bravia 32″ LCD TV that the consumer electronics giant proclaim is the lowest power consuming TV of that size on the market. The TV consumes 86kWH per year and uses the standard flourescent backlight rather than the new LED backlight options available in some of their other Bravia televisions. The TVs resolution is 768p, not the more widely prefered 1080p resolution for high-definition televisions.
The Bravia KDL-32JE1 will be available for retail sale in Japan for ~$1400.00. The flat panel TV will be available in other countries afterward but an exact date was not given.
