Pioneer Showcases Plasma Television Innovations at CES
Pioneer showcased its latest offerings in plasma television designs and technology at CES last week. Though the company did not say when these new features would appear in its KURO plasma TV lineup or what they would cost, they definitely sparked significant interest among press at the event.
One was a 50-inch display that boasted a mere 9millimeters thickness and weighed only 40lbs (roughly the weight of a 37 inch LCD flat panel). This is the thinness plasma screen showcased to date.
Pioneer also displayed a plasma television that could produce absolute Black, meaning it had an unlimited contrast ratio and increased color depth. The black of the screen was so true, that in a completely blackened room, the images on the television screen appeared to be floating on the wall.
