On-Wall / In-Wall Speakers | The Right Solution for Space Problems
I am a neat freak. I admit it. I am a constant tidier, a fanatic organizer, a minimalist decorator. I like appliances and furniture that polish the look of the room and hide its faults and unavoidable messy items. There are a lot of tremendously powerful and exciting home theater equipment that sounds at its best when it is prominently displayed in a living or family room, something I have a hard time with. I understand that speakers need a lot of room around them to keep from sounding distorted or muffled (this is called the boundary effect in the stereo biz). If you are like me and prefer your speakers unobtrusively placed, no matter how sleek and sophisticated the design, I recommend you ask your home theater sales staff about on-wall or in-wall speaker options.
On-Wall / In-Wall options provide clear, crisp sound as the manufacturer meant it to be without the size and obviousness of standard floor or cabinet speakers. These speakers are either mounted on your wall using brackets or built into your wall structure itself. The in-wall option does require a little more labor costs for installation but if you are clutter-phobic like I am, it must may be worth it to you.
With these options, you won’t need to sacrifice the sound quality of standard speakers by hiding them in a cabinet or TV stand. With in-wall / on-wall speakers you won’t waste your money by buying quality standard speakers and then dulling the sound through inconspicuous placement (as I would be liable to do).
So, all you clutter fixers out there can still have great home theater sound and still maintain control on the room space if you take the time to look into on-wall or in-wall speaker options.
