Developer of First Stereo Receiver Retiring
Dr. Sidney Harman made audio history when in 1953 he developed the first stereo receiver with his then business partner, Bernard Kardon. His receiver combined the power amplifier, preamp and radio tuner into one entity, the first of its kind (learn more about the power of the modern receiver by reading “A/V Receivers: What Makes Them the Command Station of the Home Theater System“) . Now at the age of 89, he has decided to retire from his company, Harman International.
